Experiences with smoke tests in greenhouse

Smoke test greenhouseTo save energy in greenhouses, the use of recirculation fans has proven to be one of the most effective methods. The rising heat is equally distributed throughout the greenhouse and when the fans are placed correctly, a continuous air flow is created in the greenhouse. A uniform temperature is very important for an equal development of plants as well as during the harvest period. Recently, a smoke test was performed at a large tomato grower in the Netherlands to assess if the air was divided optimally, after all, nothing is as invisible as air. The smoke test was repeated at various locations in the greenhouse and it soon turned out that, because of the throw and the ventilation concept of the Multifan horticultural fans, the air was moved to all desired locations in the greenhouse.
